Things To Do

Up until recently Roatan was considered off the beaten path, Somewhat unfound diving just waiting for the explorer. Somewhat recently that has began to change with more cruise ships and visitors finding this small western Caribbean island. With more visitors comes more things to do. Along with the great diving and snorkeling that helped put Roatan on the map there are now some other activities to supplement the water based adventure. There are opportunities to ride a "zip line" canopy tour over the tree tops in a few places around the Island. You can hike many trails around the Island, some very nice ones right at the house and others in places like Carambola Botanical gardens in which a 30 +- minute climb up this mountain leads to the top of the island where you can see the incredible view of the pristine Caribbean coast. There are hundreds of species of wildlife, birds, trees and herbs to experience, some native to Honduras. If you feel like traveling a short drive just head east towards French Harbor along the main road in French Key and you'll arrive at Sherman Arch's Iguana Farm. Come early afternoon if you want to watch and participate in the iguanas feeding time. This is great fun for the children who want to see dozens upon dozens of iguanas in one area. You may also want to visit the Roatan Marine institute for a dolphin swim/ snorkel encounter, Or, you might just want to relax with a beverage of choice on one of our decks and enjoy the tranquility. These are just a few things to do, Visit the link section for more and check back often as things are changing quickly on this little unknown Island of Roatan
